Landscape Assessment Case Study - Solar Farms

The practice provides advice and has experience of renewable energy sites including large scale solar farms demonstrated here.  We are familiar with the relevant background details of solar farms proposals in relation to local authority planning system.

Advice can be in the form of site selection, site planning and landscape and visual impact assessment (LVIA) which is often a requirement of a planning application of this type.  This can also form part of an environmental impact assessment (EIA).  The prescribed format of an LVIA objectively identifies the effects of development on landscape character and its visibility within the landscape.

Examples show a thorough evaluation of existing conditions and a full and careful assessment of the impacts recommending mitigation proposals where necessary. This process aims to achieve the best configuration and presentation of development proposals whilst protecting the environment and the local landscape setting.
