We prepare Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIA) and advise on landscape mitigation for projects. This is either carried out independently or part of an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the evaluation of development projects. This method informs the design development at the early stages and ultimately provides the best available protection for our landscape thus demonstrating a sensitive approach through the planning process. |
We have completed LVIAs at varying scales over a wide range of sites from a landscape sensitivity assessment for the entire Cranborne Chase and West Wiltshire Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), and a 70 hectare housing site in London Green Belt down to an LVIA for a single replacement dwelling in the Dorset AONB. Our project involvement has covered both urban and rural sites for retail, leisure, commercial, residential, agricultural, and alternative energy sites. Some have been as expert witness relating to enforcement notices and public inquiries behalf of appellants and defendants. |
