Newland Park is a complex site located on Green Belt land. A residential community is planned from a redundant university campus while conserving and enhancing the 73ha parkland that provides a setting to the existing Georgian Grade II listed mansion and its historic formal gardens, designed by the eminent landscape architect, Thomas Mawson. Landscape appraisal and characterisation studies and a landscape and visual impact assessment (LVIA) of the site have informed the strategic landscape masterplan which shapes the development. |
The design accommodates over 300 residential units with minimal landscape and visual impact whilst restoring the historic gardens and parkland to its former condition thus conserving the setting of the listed mansion. The masterplan has evolved over a period of time playing an essential role in the planning process. The practice has worked with planning consultants, architects, engineers, ecologists, arboriculturalists and the local authority to formulate the landscape masterplan. |
